Tabanan Regency

The Regency of Tabanan lies between the regencies of Badung in the east and Jembrana in the west, has six most significant features of the landscape - the forest, the mountains, the sea, the lakes, the earth and the ricefields. The famous seaside temple, Tanah Lot is located  here. Many black-sand beaches are also being developed for tourism.

Subak Museum
Which contains tool and implements connected with ricefield irrigation and agriculture in Bali. It lies just outsie of the town on the right-hand side of the main road to Denpasar.

Tanah Lot
Tanah
means earth and lot means south or sea - thus something like " Temple of the earth in the sea" is intended. Like so many other temples in Bali, Tanah Lot is connected with famous brahman priest, Danghyang Nirartha, who wandered from Java  to Bali in the 16th century. This most famous temple in Bali is a place for viewing spectacular sunset in Asia. Every day at dusk, tourist throng the area to witness the magnificent silhoutte of the temple against the glowing horizon. The best view is from the cliff overlooking the temple. 

Lake Brantan
Lake Brantan is one of the three lakes that make up the Bedugul resort area in a cool mountain with its tropical rainforest balnket the hills. At 1400 m above sea level, this area has temperatures several degrees lower than the plains. Its delightful scenery, spectacular mountain walks and many other recreation opportunities  attract many tourist . Bedugul Hotel as a center for waterskiing, parasailing, canoeing, and fishing. The area has the last remaining tropical forest on the island. The botanical garden  covering aran of 129.2 hectares - "Kebun Raya Eka Karya Bali" in Bedugul - are home to 650 tree species of trees and there are 459 different wild and propagated orchids.
