Nusa Tenggara (Lesser Sunda)
A bit of regular tourist trails is the beautiful and exciting islands of Nusa Tenggara, a chain of more than five hundred and fifty islands stretching a thousand kilometres from Lombok in the West to Timor in the East. Also known as Lesser Sunda, and located to the East of Bali, Nusa Tenggara is divided into two distinct provinces : West Nusa Tenggara, consisting mainly of Lombok and Sumbawa; East Nusa Tenggara, made up mostly by Sumba and Flores including Timor Barat. Kupang is the capital city of East Nusa Tenggara. You can visit the traditional market and the Museum Negeri Kupang. Just pick the colorful Ikat cloths with geometrical design and the Sasando instrument (similar with a mandolin from lontar leaves) for souvenirs.
Nusa Tenggara is an area that personifies Indonesia's vast
culture diversity, where different ethnic groups living only a few kilometers
from each other and having different languages and customs as if they
